In the mid of July, the unveiling ceremony of the Taiwan-Malaysia Overseas Science and Technology Innovation Center (TMSTIC) was held at the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya (UM), and at the Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The establishment of TMSTIC in Malaysia by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) is an initiative supported by National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) to promote bilateral academic cooperation and industrial development between Taiwan and Malaysia. Distinguished guests have been invited to the ceremony, such as Prof. Dr. Chi-Hung Lin (President of NYCU), Prof. Dr. Yvonne Lim Ai Lian (Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UM), Prof. Ir. Dr. Nik Nazri Nik Ghazali (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, UM), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Yang Faridah Abdul Aziz (Dean of Faculty of Medicine, UM), Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rifqi Md Zain (Director of IMEN, UKM), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Burhanuddin Yeop Majlis (Founder of IMEN, UKM), and Ms. Piin Rong Lee (Assistant Researcher of New Southbound Policy Project Office, subsidized by NSTC). During the visit to UM, Prof. Dr. Chi-Hung Lin (President of NYCU) also had a meeting with Prof. Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman (Vice-Chancellor of UM) in Chancellery UM to discuss the cooperation and development of TMSTIC. Besides that, the visitation to Monash University Malaysia (MUM) has further extend the collaboration exchange between NYCU and universities in Malaysia. NYCU delegates led by Prof. Dr. Chi-Hung Lin was welcomed by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ir. Faisal Rafiq Mahamd Adikan (Vice President of MUM), Prof. Anthony Guo (Head of School, Engineering & Information Technology), and the management team of MUM.
